The conscious world, based on age-old equilibria between the 5 elements, fell into chaos. The vital energies that animated it conflicted with the principle of harmony that once regulated the march of life.
Earth, Fire, Metal, Water and Wood, the forces that once regulated the universe, no longer deliver their primordial energies. Folded in on themselves, these powers to give and take life are frozen forever in an unchanging time.
Though they constantly renew themselves, for the common mortals like ourselves, they are invisible threads that the first philosophers called, for lack of a better term: Destiny.
Only a few poets discovered that these superior voices could speak through the mouths of their life-force symbols. There are twelve of them called “The 12 Pillars of the World”.
They take the form of the rat, the buffalo, the tiger, the rabbit, the dragon, the snake, the horse, the goat, the monkey, the rooster, the dog and the pig.
Hélem is a ‘hero’ in the original sense of the word. He was dreamed to dispel the shadows and lift the curse that has frozen the universe in the endless life energy war. Through action, skill and intelligence, Helem will free the energies so that they can re-engage in the vital cycle.
He will free the forces of time, the only forces capable of giving a future to humanity. He will also, for his own sake, become a Man, bearer of light and wisdom, founder of a new world.
It is this new world that we propose to found today.
At the basis of the gameplay and scoring system, creation and destruction are complementary processes
in which the ultimate goal is harmony.
